Makeup by Holly deserves more than 5 stars!!  Holly created a process for me to follow for speaking engagements, workshops that last all day, as well as a skin care routine that even I can follow!  Holly also took the time to explain what products were "must haves" v. those that I might want to consider.  She reviewed all of the expiration dates on my stash, updated those that work best for my wardrobe at this time of year, and let me take the time to write notes.  This was an exceptional value!  I managed to recreate one of the looks on my own for a networking function this morning.

A woman having her photo taken can be a very unsettling thing.  I can in all certainty say this was not the case for my daughter.  This was by far one of the best experiences of Tyler's life and mine as well.  We were quite nervous not knowing what to expect.  From the moment she walked in the door, Kim, Holly and Naomi put her mind at ease that she would be awesome and she was!  It was not just about having a picture taken, it was much much more.  Tyler has always been a self starter, team player and go getter, but the moment she stepped in front of that camera I saw a very different Tyler.  Her strength, confidence and poise was absolutely wonderful to watch.  This is an experience that every woman should have.  I am woman hear me roar!

Holly is an Amazing Make up Artists!!!!  I received many compliments on how Gorgeous my make up was on my wedding day.

Outside of being a great business professional, she is great at her craft. I am someone that doesn't generally wear makeup outside of mascara and lip gloss but Holly was patient with me during our bridal consultation and helped me find a look that I felt comfortable in for my wedding.  I had a large bridal party of nine that included ladies of all hues with different needs for their skin and Holly and her assistant made us all look great on my wedding day!  I received compliments on my lashes and my makeup the entire evening at my wedding!

I am more than pleased that I chose Holly to be the make-up artist for my 2 events.  I have never felt so special and beautiful as when Holly put on her miracle work for me.  I continue to get feedback on how beautiful I appeared on both my wedding day and the wedding reception that followed over 1 month later.  Holly paid much attention to detail and getting it right for me even with bad lighting.  

Holly apparently schedules well as she did not seem hurried or rushed.  My mother, photographer and bridesmaid were present and Holly kept working like no problem.... Holly was amazing to work with!  I searched long and hard for an area makeup artist that specialized in all skin tones.  I even considered makeup artists from NJ, Philadelphia, MD, DC, and the Charlottesville area.  For a while, I played phone and email tag with some of Richmond's "best" makeup artists just to be turned off by their lack of professionalism.

Holly was always professional, returning emails and calls in a timely manner.  She was helpful in figuring out a timeline for the day of as well.  We did two makeup trials on two separate occasions just to help me figure out an exact look for the day of.  I appreciate that she was so dedicated to helping me get my perfect look.  On the day of the wedding, Holly showed up bright and early before 6am and got right to work.  I'm very impressed by her work ethic.

Holly even helped one of my bridesmaids apply some body makeup with no extra charge just to make her feel good about herself the day of the wedding.  My bridesmaids still talk about how nice she was!

My makeup was flawless.  My bridesmaids looked lovely! I got so many compliments on my makeup that I still consult with Holly for other projects when possible.

Her attention to detail, enthusiasm and ability to listen and discern what is best for her client is truly remarkable.  If you are looking for a make up artist for your wedding day, Holly is the artist you should hire.  Unfortunately the hour before my wedding was very chaotic, Holly's calm/reassuring presence greatly assisted in changing the mood of my wedding party to one of mayhem to calmness.  She went over and above in terms of providing exceptional customer of service.

My experience with MakeupbyHolly was wonderful.  I am a woman who doesn’t ordinarily wear make- up and Holly understood that.  She was patient and listened to what I wanted and delivered.  My wedding photos where flawless.  I received so many compliments and felt beautiful on that day.  I recommended Holly recently to another bride who I knew would love the quality of her services.

I had the privilege of meeting Holly at Ulta on Saturday to pick out new eye shadow colors and new brushes. I had learned from Holly’s group make up class I needed a refresh and newer tools. 

After our Ulta trip Holly worked with me one on one for tips on ways to apply my eyeshadow with the new colors and how to contour my cheeks with a new bronzer.

Holly Byrd Miller first applied makeup for me at a Kim Brundage Photography headshot party. I loved the way she worked, with a gentle, sure touch. The results were phenomenal. My face had never looked so good, yet so natural. I never dreamed I'd have an opportunity to learn any of her techniques. So I was thrilled to learn that Holly was teaching classes and coaching clients on skincare and makeup application. As a teen, I had enjoyed playing with makeup but, as I got older, I'd become confused by the vast numbers of techniques, products and tools. I wanted to speed up my morning routine, reduce product confusion and clutter and learn how to apply makeup for my business videos. I assumed Holly might teach me a few key tips and tricks. Imagine my surprise when I ended up with four pages of detailed notes! I was amazed at the wealth of knowledge Holly brought to my kitchen table. And, thanks to her enthusiasm, the entire process was great fun. She loves teaching, patiently answers each question and gives clear guidance. She helped me reduce the number of products I apply, she steered me toward several incredible products that I will never want to be without, she showed me how to match foundation perfectly to my skin color and how to airbrush on top of a light base to quickly, easily achieve a camera-ready, long-lasting finish. I was most surprised by (what I call) her non-surgical face lift - a contour/blush/highlight technique. That blew my mind! What she taught me about eye makeup changed everything I had been attempting to do to brighten my eyes. In the end, after the fun and laughter, I felt I had time-traveled to middle school. Holly brought the joy back to playing with makeup.
